The
FOS invites all companies to participate in a unique partnership
that extends the traditional sponsorship opportunities
into more comprehensive relationships that focus on collaborative
efforts and mutually beneficial strategic programs. Corporate
Affairs Board members contribute a $10,000 unrestricted
educational grant to the FOS. In return, the corporate
members gain access to all of our major programs discussed
below and meet twice per year with the leadership of the
organization to develop educational programs and other
collaborative efforts. An individualized comprehensive
package of reforms is negotiated with each member to ensure
we meet the strategic and corporate goals of our partners.

The FOS will hold at least two regional meetings in 2004.
There are two coding seminars scheduled for 2004; April
2nd in Tallahassee and August 6th in Fort Lauderdale.
These meetings are limited to one day and do include the
opportunity for sponsors to briefly address the meeting
attendees. Limited sponsorship is made available as we
try to maximize the exposure of the sponsoring companies
to our members. The Regional Meetings usually focus on
practice management issues from coding seminars to HIPAA
seminars to tort reform educational sessions. The standard
cost of sponsorship for each regional meeting is $2,000.
Again, we do limit the number of sponsors for each meeting
so contact the society as soon as possible if interested.
We usually average around 100 attendees at each regional
meeting.

The FOS plans to partner with the Florida Bones Society,
an organization of orthopaedic practice administrators,
to present an annual meeting focusing on practice administration
and other socio-economic issues surrounding the practice
of orthopaedics. Exhibiting opportunities are available
for companies during the two-day meeting. There are additional
opportunities to sponsor the reception on the first evening
of the meeting. The 2004 meeting will be in October in
St. Augustine.

The FOS has started a working lunch program to address
the practice management needs of our members. Each
month we host a Conference Call on a different
topic of interest
and have experts in the particular field of discussion
and our practices dial in to the Conference. The calls
create a unique opportunity to hear from the experts
on a particular topic and then have open dialogue
with them and other practices around the state
on how they
are dealing with the respective topic. We have tried
two of these programs so far and they have been really
well received with over 30 practices participating
in each. Next year we are going to have the calls
recorded
and archived on our website for the year with streaming
audio and copies of pertinent handouts and agendas.
This will greatly enhance our participation and we
hope to attract audiences from across the county
for certain
programs of interest. The web page will have an initial
menu of programs and sponsors that the viewer can
browse and decide which program they would like
to listen to.
Each program will be sponsored by a related company
in that field. For example, if we do a program on
electronic medical records or the benefits of
a paperless office
it would be sponsored by Chart Logic. When the viewer
clicks on the program, the entire bottom of the page
will be a Chart Logic banner ad and direct link to
your home page. This way it may close the loop
when they
view the program and can contact you for more information.
Sponsorship for a single program is going to be $2,000.
That covers the cost of the conference call, taping
of the program, encryption to get it onto the website,
12 months of streaming video on the webpage, and the
promotion that we need to do for the program.

The FOS produces a quarterly newsletter for distribution
to every orthopaedist in the state. In order to keep the
size of the publication down, advertising is limited to
quarter page ads. The advertising cost is $500 per issue.

The FOS maintains two separate websites and advertising
is available on each depending on the audience you
are seeking. The two sites are 1) our official website, www.fos-society.com,
and 2) our professional liability crisis website,
www.floridacrisis.org.
BANNER ADS -
Banner ads located on the home page of the FOS website
range from
$3,000 to $7,000 per year
depending on the size of the ad. Banner ads located
on other pages of the FOS website and the Florida
Crisis website range from $1,500 to $3,500 depending on
the
size of the ad. Please note that banner ads are
not permitted on the home page of the Florida Crisis website.
EDUCATIONAL
PROGRAMMING -
The FOS does have the ability to do streaming video
and audio programs on our website.
This is a member service that we intend to expand in the
near future. The cost to place a program on the site will
have to be negotiated depending on the length of the program
and other issues. Discussion groups are also available
to post on the website and can be maintained and operated
by the sponsoring company.

The FOS is happy to negotiate a combination of the opportunities
above with an exhibit booth at our annual meeting in
May at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo which would
then make you a member of the FOS
Corporate Affairs Board. The Corporate Affairs Board is a program developed
by the FOS that provides companies with greater exposure
and interaction with the leadership of our organization.
The extra benefits include the Orthopedics in Florida
Roundtable that will be held each spring at the time
and location of the AAOS Annual Meeting and the Corporate
Affairs Board Appreciation Reception during the FOS
Annual Meeting. Both of those events will be limited
to the leadership of the FOS and representatives of
the Corporate Affairs Board members. The total cost
for the complete program is $10,000 per year.
